How to develop exciting concert programmes? Who is taking care of my artists’ interests? Who is going to pay for this and that? And what about creativity? – These and many more questions are accumulating day in and day out on the desks of agencies and promoters. This year’s goal of IAMA International Conference is not finding solutions for these problems, but showing new directions and offering interesting panels.
Every year the „Who is who“ of the classical music business meets at IAMA, 2014 at Londons Milton Court. The conference’s aim is not only to offer agencies and promoters a platform to meet and talk about current or future projects, but to work its way to the core of modern musical business challenges within diverse panel sessions. This year’s motto reads „Time for Change: Rebalancing the Music Business Model“ and conference chairman Stephen Wright greets the delegates as follows: „There is common consensus in the music community that things are changing and sometimes not for the better – but difficulties and challenges can also generate creativity and solutions. […] I also believe that it is during such conferences that we need to give delegates the opportunity to come to grips with more practical elements of our daily work, and so inspire new ideas and purpose when we return to our desks.“
Following this thought, the sessions focus on topics like „Media and Opera“, audience development and the interaction of old and new media. In addition, interviews with Sir Neville Marriner and Barrie Kosky as well as concerts of young artists complete the conference programme.
Meet concerti at IAMA! We will enjoy talking about your artists and collaboration options!
